Deutsche Börse reviews index composition/
Changes to be effective as of 18 June 2018

On Tuesday, Deutsche Börse announced changes to its selection indices, which will become effective on 18 June 2018. Scout24 AG, Delivery Hero AG and Puma SE will be included in the MDAX index and will replace the shares of STADA Arzneimittel AG, Krones AG and alstria office REIT-AG. As of 13 July 2018, STADA will change from the segment Prime Standard into General Standard and therefore no longer fulfils the criteria to remain in the indices. The inclusion of Delivery Hero AG and Puma SE is based on the fast entry rule; both companies are eligible for the index inclusion due to their market capitalisation and order book turnover. MDAX tracks the 50 largest and most liquid companies below DAX.

The following changes will therefore apply for the SDAX index: due to the move from MDAX, the shares of Krones AG and alstria office REIT-AG will be included in SDAX. In addition, the shares of DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA, HelloFresh SE and Aumann AG will enter the SDAX index. The shares of Diebold Nixdorf AG and bet-at-home.com AG will be deleted from the index as well as Scout24 AG, Delivery Hero AG and Puma SE, which will move to MDAX. The SDAX index tracks the 50 next biggest and most actively traded companies after the MDAX.

In TecDAX, the shares of Siemens Healthineers AG will be included and replace Aumann AG. The shares of Aumann AG will change their sector classification and will no longer be part of the technology segment. TecDAX comprises 30 companies with a focus on technology.

The constituents of the DAX index remain unchanged.

The next scheduled index review is 5 September 2018.

Deutsche Börse recently announced rule changes to the inclusion of companies in the MDAX, SDAX and TecDAX indices. The tech and classic sectoral separation in the indices will be eliminated. By ending the previous separation into classic and tech segments, tech companies will also be included in the MDAX and SDAX in the future. Further, DAX companies that are in the technology sectors can now also be included in the TecDAX index. In addition, the MDAX and SDAX indices are being expanded: the number of stocks in the MDAX is rising from 50 to 60 and the number of stocks in the SDAX from 50 to 70. These index changes will be implemented according to the new rulebook as of September 2018.
