Premium (warrant)

Premium (warrant) The amount by which it is more expensive to buy or sell an underlying instrument by purchasing and immediately exercising a warrant than it is to buy the instrument directly on the stock exchange. The premium is expressed as a percentage.

Calculating the premium is a way of measuring the value of a warrant at a particular point in time. The premium is usually expressed as an annual percentage because it more accurately reflects the value of the warrant.
