Improved insight into your risk management data
To determine whether a new product or service is attractive enough for customers to pay for it, the initial idea needs to be developed into a marketable basic product – i.e. a product with a minimum level of functionality – as quickly as possible. This is exactly how Deutsche Börse’s new data analytics and visualisation service – DAVe – came about.
Several years ago, we created the so-called Enhanced Risk Solution service to provide customers with near-time risk data. However, only few customers actually used it. Why was that? Maybe the problem was a missing user interface? Or was the data not sufficiently up to date? Based on these assumptions, a new user interface was written and the risk data improved. The result was DAVe.
Prototyping – quick and cost-efficient
The first prototype was created within just two weeks, both for internal discussion as well as for talks with potential customers. After it was well-received on both sides, DAVe was officially greenlit to go to production.
DAVe comprises two components: a web-based user interface and an application programming interface (API). The user interface allows our customers to analyse and visualise their Eurex Clearing risk margins to better understand them. When our customers know why their risk margins are as high or as low as they are, they are able to optimise their portfolio to reduce their margin requirements, among other things. In addition to the web-based user interface, the API allows users to integrate this data into customer applications, where it can be easily combined with data from other sources.
The team is currently working on a beta version, which will be available to customers later this year.
