Stephan Leithner commented on this as follows:
“At first glance, financial markets and art might seem worlds apart.
But my exchanges with Anne-Marie Beckmann, Director of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, always remind me how much we have in common – and that we should never stop expanding our horizons! Like during our inspiring sneak preview of the upcoming exhibition, “Harry Gruyaert. A World in Colour”, opening tomorrow.
As one of the most influential European pioneers of colour photography, Belgian artist Harry Gruyaert’s work goes far beyond documentation. His photos capture and transport the atmosphere of places all over the world, in Egypt, India, Morocco, the US, Russia, Spain or France. If you're in Frankfurt, I highly recommend joining one of the public tours of the exhibition!
At Deutsche Börse Group, our mission is not just to simply operate markets, but to shape and advance them. As engineers of the capital markets, we combine technical expertise with an innovative mindset. That’s probably why we feel so close to artists – and why we appreciate their work with our Photography Foundation! I am very proud of the crucial work of our Foundation, which is responsible for the Art Collection Deutsche Börse – one of the most important international collections of contemporary photography, with over 2,400 photographic works by around 170 artists from 38 nations.
And our engagement for art spans even wider, with partnerships with museums like the Städel Museum Frankfurt, the SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT, and the Mudam Luxembourg – all part of our efforts to support culture and broaden horizons.
Let’s continue our inspiring relationship – for markets and a world in colour!”
