Relevant knowledge, skills and experience

Rainer Müller has more than 25 years of experience in the field of stock exchanges and financial market infrastructure. As a project manager, he brings extensive experience at the interface of markets and information technology, particularly in cash and derivatives markets as well as in the clearing and settlement business. He also possesses in-depth expertise in the energy market, especially in the trading of electricity and transmission capacities. In this area, he played a key role in the initial coupling of European electricity markets. He was additionally involved in the sales of exchange systems and market data products, and alongside managing existing client relationships, he was also engaged in the acquisition of new partners. His current focus is on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), where he is involved in the development of new clearing and settlement systems for the tokenization of securities and their integration with next generation payment systems. Mr. Müller is a member of the Strategy and Sustainability Committee as well as the Technology Committee of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG.
