Treatment of RWE Rights Issue

Deutsche Börse has today announced details on the treatment of the subscription right for RWE common shares expected to trade ex on 8 December 2011 in its equity indices.

The value of the subscription right will therefore be derived as follows:

BR = ([Closing Price (RWE Ordinary Shares)] - 26) / 19

The value of the subscription right will be applied to both share classes (preferred and ordinary shares) to determine the respective correction (ci) factors:

c(RWE Ordinary Shares) = [Closing Price (RWE Ordinary share)] / ([Closing Price (RWE Ordinary share)] - BR)

c(RWE Preferred Shares) = [Closing Price (RWE Preferred share)] / ([Closing Price (RWE Preferred share)] - BR)

The new ci factors will come into effect on 8 December 2011. All above mentioned closing prices refer to the respective closing prices on 07 December 2011.
