Preliminary Scenario Calculation for Equity Indices - UPDATE

Effective 22 September, new index weights will apply for companies in equity indices of Deutsche Börse. Deutsche Börse released the preliminary weighting figures on Wednesday. An update of the preliminary weighting will be published on Friday. The preliminary data can be downloaded from the Deutsche Börse website (www.deutsche-boerse.com). The final figures based on Friday’s Xetra closing prices will be published on the Deutsche Börse website on Saturday.

The share of K+S will be included in DAX and will replace TUI. The share of TUI will move to MDAX replacing the share of K+S, which moves to DAX. At the same time Bauer will be included in MDAX, Deutz will be leaving the index.

The share of Deutz will replace the share of Bauer in SDAX. Furthermore, Centrotec Sustainable and VTG will move to SDAX, whereas Interhyp and D+S Europe will leave the index.

Manz Automation will be included in TecDAX and will replace Ersol Solar Energy. The share of SMA Solar Energy will also be included in TecDAX, and BB Medtech will leave the index.

The current index rulebook will be applied to the current takeover bid for the Continental AG shares in the DAX index. The final free float factor for Continental will be published on 19 September at 2 p.m. CET.

The free float will be determined on the basis of all information available until 11 a.m. CET on 19 September. The free float factors determined in this way will be effective in the index calculation as of 22 September.

Additionally the existing regulation for minimum free float also applies at all times: In the event that free float falls below 5 percent of total share capital, the company will be removed from the index with two trading days’ notice.

The next equity index review is scheduled for 3 Dezember 2008.
