Deutsche Börse to publish cash market annual statistics 2021
Trading volume of €1.9 trillion on the venues Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate Exchange / overview of the most traded stocks
SAP, Lufthansa, Flatex Degiro and Cliq Digital were the most actively traded stocks in the German indices DAX, MDAX, SDAX und Scale All Share last year. This was announced by Deutsche Börse today when publishing its cash market trading statistics for 2021. In total, an order book turnover of €1.9 trillion was achieved last year on the three trading venues Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate Exchange. The total order book turnover for 2020 was €2.1 trillion.
The stock with the highest order book turnover on Xetra in 2021 was SAP with €66.2 billion, followed by Volkswagen with €64.5 billion and Daimler with €61.2 billion. Lufthansa topped the MDAX index at €17.3 billion, while Flatex Degiro led the SDAX with €3.1 billion. Cliq Digital ranked as the most traded share in the SME segment Scale with a volume of €417.2 million.
Order book turnover in December 2021 totaled €156,6 billion after €151.2 billion in the previous year. Of this amount, €126.3 billion was attributable to Xetra, €3.9 billion to Börse Frankfurt and €26.4 billion to the Tradegate Exchange. The average daily turnover on Xetra in December was €6 billion (December 2019: €5,9 billion).
