Deutsche Börse AG: candidate for election to the Supervisory Board nominated

As already announced, Joachim Faber will resign from the Board by the end of the Annual General Meeting 2020 – Michael Rüdiger to take his place

Today the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG has declared its support for Michael Rüdiger as a candidate for election to the company’s control committee. The new member is to be appointed at the Annual General Meeting on 19 May 2020. Today’s decision was preceded by a corresponding recommendation of the Nomination Committee of the Supervisory Board.

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG has a total of 16 members. Joachim Faber will be Chairman until the end of the Annual General Meeting. He will then resign from the Board as announced. The Board proposes the capital markets expert Michael Rüdiger to succeed Joachim Faber as shareholder representative. As already announced, Martin Jetter is to succeed him as Chairman.

“With his many years of experience in the national and international financial sector, as well as his in-depth knowledge of Deutsche Börse due to his work on the Exchange Council, Michael Rüdiger is a great asset to the Supervisory Board. The nomination was preceded by an extensive selection process taking into account the competence profile defined by the Supervisory Board. I am convinced that we have made a good choice for my succession as member of the Supervisory Board”, says Joachim Faber, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

Michael Rüdiger (*1964) acquired his capital markets expertise through his senior positions at UBS (formerly Union Bank of Switzerland), Allianz Asset Management and Credit Suisse. Most recently, he was Chairman of the Board of Management of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale from 2012 to 2019. Michael Rüdiger is a member of the Supervisory Board of Evonik Industries AG and was a member of the Exchange Councils of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB®) and Eurex Deutschland from 2017 to 2020. He was Chairman of the FWB Exchange Council since mid of 2017.
